Blessed Engines
Blessed Engines is a role-playing game about righteous anger and defiance of authority. It is also a game about giant mechanical knights blessed by the divine. Let fly your holy wrath and succeed, or succumb to despair and fall away. I wrote this as a part of the Emotional Mech Jam.
Vault
Vault is a creative writing project in progress. Over the course of the next year I will be adding 100 unique works of poetry and prose to a central repository in the hopes of improving my voice and getting into the habit of consistent composition. I have currently added 8/100 entries to the Vault.
Contributing Writer, GeeklyInc
I am an occasional contributor to GeeklyInc, a site for nerdy podcasts and news. I have written articles for the book review team, and some short fiction for the games team.
Project ODIN
My Senior Project at Cal Poly Pomona was Project ODIN. I helped research and design a Tesla Coil water purification system, along with a team of Electrical and Computer Engineering students. I was personally in charge of programming the pH and ORP sensors to determine water quality. Our project has been highlighted as an example for other students by our advisor.
Orpheus Manager
The Orpheus Manager is a character creation and management tool designed for The Orpheus Protocol game system, which is currently in development. I worked with the creator of the game to design an open-source tool that allows user friendly tracking and recording of complex data. This program utilizes Windows Forms and various other .NET features.
Cresset
A short story written in 2017, Cresset explores the tale of a living darkness in a fantasy land. Cresset was written as a narrative exercise, and also as an anniversary gift for my girlfriend. The story is available as a PDF, audiobook (recorded by me), and if you can track down my girlfriend maybe she will let you borrow the hand-bound version I commissioned.
Totality
Totality is a short-form tabletop RPG about a cult that thinks the world is ending during a solar eclipse. It was written for a 48 hour, 200 word RPG challenge. It is a fun, improv-heavy game that puts its own spin on the classic Prisoner's Dilemma.
Contributing Writer, Cannibal Halfling
I am a contributing writer for Cannibal Halfling Gaming, a site for tabletop RPG's and storytelling games. I write system reviews and editorial articles on narrative, collaborative storytelling, and improvised characterization. Check out my work!
Practical Magnetic Stripe Security
In 2015 I wrote a technical research paper on Practical Magnetic Stripe Security. This wasn't for class, but it sparked my interest in the Access Control industry, and was influential in leading me to my job as a software developer at Mercury. The paper contains technical details on the physics, data storage structure, and security theory behind magnetic stripe technology aimed explaining the technology to security novices.
Written With Ink
Written With Ink is the blog that I use for thoughts on faith, culture, and my own life. I don't update it very regularly, but I am very proud of some of the things I have written here. I also do most of the photography for the posts, which is something I quite enjoy.
